Creative Agency Website

Local Edition Creative is a bay area creative agency that specializes in brand storytelling, experiential design, and large-scale art installations. They wanted to change their site from an Instagram gallery of past works into a curated set of case studies that they can present to prospective clients.

Collaboration

We collaborated on this project remotely and ansychronously, so I set up a system with my client through Trello to keep track of progress, resources, reviews, and questions. I also scheduled weekly reviews via phone and Zoom.

Style Guide

Based on the creative brief that the client and I worked on together, their website inspirations and current branding, and my competitive anlysis, I created a style tile to embody their look and feel.

The dark background and space allows for images to pop, highlighting their works.
The combination of a clean sans-serif body fonts and handwritten headlines allow for a juxtoposition of modern and handcrafted.

Wireframes

Since my client is well-versed in marketing copy and SEO, we coIlaborated on the content together. I created wireframes to set guidelines for copy. These included key pages, home, single portfolio, and about page to give them a visual representation of the layout and weight of information.

Development

Since the site is hosted on Squarespace, it was a quicker and more iterative method to make live changes to the website for review than to create high-fidelity mockups.

I worked directly in Squarespace to build out their website using a starter template and added CSS and Javascript to create custom layouts, styles, and interactions.
